The Ragnarock Rocketeers Club
How are you all doing. We launch model rockets on our free time and we enjoy every minute of it, as you can see in the following pictures. This is a rocket club and anyone in the local New York City area can join. If your interested please call Anthony Aliprantis at 845-932-9940 . You can get club discounts on model rockets, and any
accessories that are offered for them. It is a fun hobbie and we love it.
Keep on flying them! And be safe about it. But most of all, remember to have
fun.
The following are just a few
pictures of a typical launch day at The Worlds Fair Marina, in Flushing
Meadows Park, located in Queens, New York.
This is a picture of the Rocket-Cam. Just like the name
implies, it has a camera built into it. The picture is taken when the engine
blows the rocket open therefor releasing the camera trigger wire. Here is
Tony setting up the trigger wire for the rocket cam before
take-off.
Here is the Rocket-Cam taking off. What a beautiful sight to
see. The best part is hoping that when the motor reaches the blowup stage,
it positions the rocket just right to take a picture of us looking up at
it.
As
always, something manages to break off when the rockets come back down to
the ground. This picture is of a recovered rocket that has two parachutes
because of its size, and it still droped down
fast.
This is the best picture of all so far. It is the launching
of a duplicate of the N.A.S.A. Space Shuttle. When the engine blows near the
end of flight, after the launch, it slingshots the space shuttle even
further upward so it can come back down in a gliding type of form. It was a
great thing to witness.
